Description
Enjoy a stay at the top of the world! Turtle Rock Cottage has spectacular panoramic views over Falmouth Harbour, famous Shirley Heights and the gently smoking volcano of Montserrat. On a clear day the mountains of Guadeloupe can also be seen.
Guests can enjoy full access to the magnificent pool and sun patio of their hosts. The pool, just a few steps up from the cottage, has one of the most wonderful views you can possibly enjoy. The pool is elevated, and looks out to sea - you literally feel you are swimming at the top of the world. The sunsets seen from the pool are frequently stunning.
Turtle Rock Cottage relies on environmentally friendly alternative energy. The sun and the wind keep the electricity humming. Voltage is 110 volts.
Although all the nightlife, restaurants and Yacht Club are only a ten minute drive, all we hear are the occasional wind-blown strains of steel pan music on a Sunday evening from Shirley Heights, and our own hillside sound of tree frogs, crickets and the breeze.
Falmouth Harbour and Nelsons Dockyard in English Harbour are visited by some of the most fabulous yachts in the world and are definitely worth a visit.
The constant flow of private yachts, their crew and guests, ensure a lively social scene and a plentiful supply of excellent restaurants, cafes and bars in these harbours.
For those who are athletic, more adverturous and energetic, there are some spectacular, well marked walks along the coast to totally deserted beaches, and wonderful views from some of the historic ruins around English Harbour and Shirley Heights. There are also tennis and squash courts nearby.
There is a wonderful continental bakery, good wine/liquor store and local grocery store within a 5-minute drive from the villa. There is an ATM machine, bank and Post Office in Nelson's Dockyard. A Cable and Wireless office offers mobile phones for hire. |

The main cottage is elegantly furnished and enjoys a pretty verandah with views of the harbours and island to the east. It has a large fully fitted kitchen, large double bedroom overlooking Falmouth Harbour, plus delightful bathroom. There are two additional beautifully decorated double bedrooms next to the main cottage. Each has an ensuite bathroom, and, again, that wonderful view over Falmouth Harbour. |
