Description
Hill Rise House is a comfortable private vacation rental villa set in more than 2 acres of secluded tropical gardens at the western end of the exclusive Montpelier plantation estate on the tiny Caribbean island of Nevis. This holiday rental has its own private pool and private tennis court. Set in the Nevisian foothills, the whole property enjoys spectacular Caribbean Sea views, dramatic vistas of Nevis Peak and brilliant Caribbean sunsets. With four bedrooms (all with private bath) up to 9 guests can be accommodated in comfort and privacy. Always for exclusive occupancy, rental rates are scaled according to the number of bedrooms you wish to use.
Built in 1990 in traditional colonial style architecture, the Main House nestles into its hillside setting as if it had been there for a hundred years. The large private swimming pool was built into one of the old sugar plantation terraces, and then the tennis court was added - quite a landscaping feat on the hill side location. In matching traditional architecture and set discreetly away from the Main House, the self contained Guest House was constructed in the late 1990's to provide extra bedrooms and independent accommodation for part of a larger group.
Hill Rise House was designed for out door living, and the main lounge and dining areas are under large open sided porches. These shaded living areas make the best of the magnificent views. At night, ocean liners with lights sparkling, pass by to make their haven among the glittering illuminations of Basseterre, and the lights of Charlestown twinkle below, under a canopy of stars. Closer to home, the large verandahs are perfect for entertaining, and Hill Rise has hosted many a party to celebrate weddings, anniversaries and family reunions. If parties are not the order of the day, our tariff structure makes the property an affordable hideaway for honeymoon couples, lovers of any age, artists and writers looking for privacy, peace and quiet.
The spacious rooms and wide verandahs are furnished with Lloyd Loom, rattan, teak and antique mahogany furniture, some of which dates back to the days of Lord Nelson (who was married at Montpelier more than 200 years ago). Fabrics from England, Spain and Sri Lanka, Hamadan carpets, Noritake china, silver plated tableware, decorative antiques and other period accessories add the finishing touches to create a feeling of gracious, yet informal living.
You will be looked after by the manager/housekeeper, Donna, who not only provides a daily maid service (except Sundays and public holidays), but also takes care of reasonable amounts of personal laundry, the general welfare of the guests and the day-to-day management of the property. She can also provide cooking and babysitting services by separate arrangement payable locally. Donna is assisted by the full time gardener, Bernard, and the resident cats, "Rum" and "Ting". The pool is maintained by an outside contractor twice a week.

If only one villa is booked, the other will not be rented. The entire property is exclusive to the renter.

* High Season - 10% first week or two, early booking more than 6 months ahead.
* High Season - 10% for all third and/or additional complete weeks.
