Description
Mornings at Casita Mango you can usually find us, caf? con leche in hand, strolling through the tropical gardens of our one-acre paradise. As we delight in the butterflies and hummingbirds all around us, and the new flowers and fruits that spring up overnight, we look forward to sharing our island home with others who are sure to fall in love with Isla Vieques.
One of the island's "PRRA" houses, named for the Puerto Rico Relocation Authority which built the houses in our quiet neighborhood, Casita Mango is one of the most beautiful examples of these historic and uniquely Viequense structures. Situated on a ridge at 165 feet, Casita Mango offers views of the ocean and the "big island" and a nearly continuous ocean breeze. About midway between Isabel Segunda and the beach town of Esperanza, all island shopping, restaurants and beaches are just minutes by car.
Newly renovated and furnished, Casita Mango radiates the warm colors of the islands, mixed with rich woods and wickers and a touch of whimsy. High ceilings and an open floor plan catch the trade winds, and terra cotta floors throughout add polish to an easy island style. |

Amenities |
Casita Mango sleeps six people with one double bed, two twins and a queen-sized sleeper. Several seating groups allow plenty of space for a solitary read, a rousing family game and a relaxing conversation all at once, if you desire. You can bring your favorite CDs or tune in a Caribbean beat on our stereo system.
The modern kitchen is designed and equipped by people who really love good food (us!) On the rear patio under a newly-built pergola is a stainless steel worktable and sink, along with a gas grill and burner to double the kitchen space and further bring the indoors out. An outdoor shower, screened by flowering plants, provides a charming alternative to the tiled indoor tub/shower combination. For the convenience of our guests, a washer and dryer are provided. |
