Description
The Calypso Sands condo is in a group of 18 island houses located in the heart of Rum Point which has long been considered the most beautiful spot on Grand Cayman. Rum Point is situated on the calm and crystal clear waters in the exclusive upscale Cayman Kai community.
Calypso Sands is a newly, tastefully, and fully furnished and equipped 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath - 2 story waterfront vacation property. Walk out the front door and you are steps from Rum Point Beach, The Wreck Bar, and the Hyatt 5 star dinner restaurant. In the back, the 2 story screened lanai as well as both bedrooms? private balconies overlook the pool & Cayman Kai lagoon. The Calypso Sands condo has a king sized bed in the master bedroom and two full size beds in the 2nd bedroom, as well as a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. The condo is shaded under Australian pines and enjoys consistent tradewinds that come across from Rum Point through the facility to the Cayman Kai lagoon wi! th usually no A/C required. However, this unit has air conditioners in each of the bedrooms as well as in the first floor living area. In addition, the condo has ceiling fans throughout for our guests.
Calypso Sands has a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances including refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, blender, and garbage disposal. The laundry room has a full size washer and dryer and the condo comes equipped with linens and towels, along with basic toiletries for your arrival. Chisholm's grocery is a 7 minute drive just down the road. The unit has cable TV, Bose stereo, and phone. There's a pretty and refreshing freshwater pool on site overlooking the Rum Point Lagoon. Directly across the way, Rum Point features lovely sugar sand beaches, pristine snorkeling over marine protected reefs, volleyball, and beautiful Casaurina Australian pines with shaded hammocks, beach chairs and picnic tables. The Hyatt operates The Wreck Bar at Rum Point, ! which offers an excellent lunch menu and full bar.
Red Sail Sports is a full service water sports operation, with dive and snorkel trips to world famous Stingray City and the North wall. They also feature Jet Ski, sunfish, paddleboat, dive and snorkel gear rentals. Red Sail Sports also operates a 50' ferry boat, which commutes from Rum Point across the North Sound over to The Hyatt Hotel and Resort on 7 mile beach. This 20 minute ferry operates 5-6 times a day. For those visiting on Sunday, we suggest taking the ferry over to the Hyatt for an excellent Sunday brunch and afternoon of fun and sun at 7 mile beach.
For additional dive and snorkel options, we highly recommend Ocean Frontiers. They are located in East End, a 20 minute drive and specialize in the East End and North Side wall dives and reef locations. They feature Nitrox, rebreathers, night dives and shark encounters. There are several golfing options in Grand Cayman but the most popular is The Links at Saf! ehaven. With sun-drenched greens, gentle trade winds and a natural seaside setting, The Links at Safehaven course is reminiscent of the old Scottish coastal courses, the original "Links." Located only five miles from George Town off Seven Mile Beach, its greens are built to USGA standards and the entire course offers a challenge to professionals and amateur golfers alike. The Links Clubhouse has a restaurant and an open-air bar, pro shop and locker room facilities.
The Links at Safe Haven is a par 71, 18-hole championship layout, measuring 6,525 yards and featuring Caribbean trade winds. Home to the Caribbean Amateur Championships in 1997, and winner of the 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2001 Best Golf Course in the Caribbean Award by Caribbean World magazine, the Links is beautifully landscaped with native plants and trees, offering scenic views of the North Sound. Its North Sound signature hole, a par 3, hole number 11, is a humbling 235 yards from the tips played into stro! ng Caribbean trade winds. Ample practice putting greens, bunkers and an aqua driving range complete this golf experience.

This newly decorated 1800 sq.ft. 2 story townhome has a fully equipped modern kitchen including stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, garbage disposal, and microwave. Other amenities include air conditioners in both bedrooms and first floor air conditioning as well. There are also ceiling fans throughout the home. The laundry room is equipped with a washer and dryer. There is a 2 story sitting room in the front of the home and a large 2 story screened in lanai in the rear. There is large living room and dining room area that includes cable TV, VCR and a Bose stereo unit with CD player.
The master suite has a king-size bed, full bath, large walk-in closet, and balcony overlooking the pool and lagoon. The guest bedroom suite has two full size beds and a walk-in closet, full bath, and balcony overlooking pool and lagoon. All linens and towels are provided. The semi-private swimming pool is 50' away and there is a charcoal grill for your convenience. There is an on call manager for our guests. |
