Description
Recently completed, we have all the amenities you will want while visiting one of the most relaxing destinations on earth. We cater to those who desire a tranquil, tropical setting near all that the Placencia Peninsula has to offer - fine restaurants, shopping, casual nightlife, scuba diving, and tours on the mainland.
We have two fully furnished, one-bedroom, luxury apartments privately situated on a white sand beach between the Placencia airstrip and the village of Placencia. The village is only one and a half kilometers (one mile) to the south. Shopping and village life are just a (complimentary) bike ride on a paved road or 20 minute walk down the beach! Next door is Francis Ford Coppola?s famous Turtle Inn where you will find the best dining on the peninsula.
We, your hosts, are people who love people. Brad is a retired manufacturing plant manager. Elsie is a retired college educator and administrator. Our love of adventure and scuba diving led us from Southern Alberta, Canada to the beautiful country and people of Belize. The gardener and housekeeper are authentic Ketchi Mayans with a wealth of knowledge of their customs and Belize flora and fauna to share. "Colibri" is 'hummingbird' in French, Spanish and Italian. We have many of these little visitors to delight our guests!
Enter your apartment from the Caribbean Sea side through double solid mahogany doors. Ahead you will see double louvered doors leading to the bedroom where you will find a large hand-crafted mahogany wardrobe and king bed. All bed linens, bed and window coverings have been home sewn of high quality Egyptian cottons and jacquards to pamper you, our valued guests.
The living room, which faces the sea, is also furnished with locally hand-crafted mahogany pieces: a futon, which makes into a double bed, chair, coffee table, and end tables. Private bathroom and shower have hot and cold water and quality personal toiletries. Our housekeeper will do laundry on the premises.
A covered deck on the sea side has outdoor furniture for relaxing in the shade and "al fresco" dining. Just off the covered deck is a sundeck with solid wood chaise lounges and drink tables. Here you can have a cool drink, read a book and "catch rays," handsomely pampered on our complimentary luxury beach towels!
Take the stairs off the sun deck to the sand and sea where you will find beach furniture and the warm Caribbean! Good snorkelling awaits here, so do not forget your masks, snorkels, and fins!
From the minute we pick you up at the airstrip, until your vacation is over our aim is to assist you with having the most enjoyable vacation you have ever experienced.
Start each day with home brewed coffee on your private lanai overlooking the beautiful Caribbean Sea.
Experience the flamingo pinks and soft greys of our sunrises and sunsets.
Catch a glimpse of dolphins and manatees feeding in the bay, our resident hummingbirds, coati-mundis, grey foxes, and raccoons.
Prepare for a day snorkelling in the sea, catching rays on the beach or shopping in the nearby village of Placencia (you may use our complimentary bicycles). Go scuba diving or take one of the many tours to see howler monkeys, Maya Ruins, the Blue Hole, Cockscomb Bird Sanctuary, a Butterfly farm, jungle, rainforest, and more.
Near evening, wander through our one hectare of private gardens of shade trees, fruit trees, and flowering plants and shrubs. Our gardener will enjoy sharing his love of plants with you! |
