Description
Surfview Villas is located on the southeast coast of Barbados. It is situated on the longest beach in Barbados, appropriately named Long Beach. The villa is only ten minutes from the airport, shops and nightlife.

Our 1-bedroom unit comes furnished with twin beds, and for comfort is equipped with a ceiling fan in the bedroom. The couch in the living room can pull out to a double bed if needed. And of course the balcony has a spectacular view of the ocean. There is plenty of room to enjoy your meals either on the balcony or in the dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped, complete with electric fridge, stove and microwave oven.

Our manager, ensures that everything runs smoothly and is in good working order in our absence. He also can assist in booking car rentals, and can make suggestions on what to see and do on the island.

There is a freshwater olympic-sized pool open to all guests and residents from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Our lawns, gardens and pool area are well maintained by our local groundskeeper.

Maid service is provided twice a week. They will change the bedding and towels twice a week, wash the breakfast dishes, and tidy up the units.

Personal laundry is the responsibility of each guest and resident. However, for a reasonable fee, you can hire the maid to provide laundry service - payable to the maid.

For a special treat, our maids are available to cater a Bajan dinner for two, four or more. Flying fish and pumpkin fritters are usually on the menu - a specialty not to be missed.

The Island's own power company supplies a reliable service. Domestic current is 120 volts 50 Hertz. Items such as hair dryers, electric razors function normally, however, electric clocks will run slower.

The water is clean and safe for drinking right from the tap. The cruise ships when at port will stock up on Barbados water for their guests.

There is a telephone in our unit for local or collect calling.

Suggested places of interest in the Bridgetown area include Pelican Village, which is an arts and crafts centre, the Public Buildings, home of the Parliament; Fountain Gardens; Trafalgar Square and Queen's Park with colonial-style buildings housing an art gallery and two theatres.

There are tours that can take your above and below the land. The Bajan Helipcopter offers a "flightseeing" tour; and the Atlantic Submarine - a glass bottom submarine ride allowing passengers to view the beauty of the deep. For fun on the water, try the Jolly Roger and Bajan Queen cruises. These are day and evening cruises and include complimentary drinks on board, a BBQ meal, lots of dancing, fun and a fabulous view of the coastline.

The Bridgetown Careenage houses a number of other charter vessels from sailboats to deep sea fishing.

For a more "spirited" tour, try the Mount Gay Rum Visitors Centre and the Bank Beer Brewers tour.

The parish of St. James and St. Peter otherwise known as the "Gold Coast" features calm waters and houses luxury hotels. Places to visit include Holetown, the site of the first settlement in 1627; St. James Parish Church; Folkestone Marine Park and Visitors Centre; and the Sir Frank Hudson Sugar Museum.

St. Peter parish boasts the Barbados Wildlife Reserve; Grenade Hall Forst and Signal Station; Speightstown; Farley Hill National Park; and Nicholas Abbey-one of the island's oldest houses.

The parish of St. John has one of the island's most spectacular views from its historic parish church, as well as the serenity and beauty of Codrington College.
