Description Crystal clear turquoise waters, world class bone fishing, snorkel and dive. Casual relaxed lifestyle. 2 bdrm, 2 bath, private home, sleeps 4-6. The "Pink House" is a warm and cozy, beautifully maintained two bedroom, two bathroom private home with lovely wicker furniture, ceramic tile floors, central air conditioning, ceiling fans, and many framed native island prints, paintings, shells, etc. in each room. It is situated facing the North side of the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 3+ miles from the eastern tip of Little Exuma, while overlooking two small offshore islands, Pelican Cays. It is approximately 300 feet from the beautiful, pure white sand of Tropic of Cancer Beach. This beach is extremely secluded, which definitely adds to its charm, and is positioned approximately 15 miles from neighboring Long Island. The interior is equipped with phone service, satellite receiver, VCR, 2 TVs, stereo system with indoor/outdoor speakers, large selection of CD and tape music, board games, & an inflatable queen size mattress, if needed, for additional guests. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large refrigerator, conventional oven range and microwave, toaster, coffee maker, toaster oven, food processor & blender, numerous utensils, glass wares, dishes, pots & pans, spice rack, condiments,and canned goods. This home is fully stocked with linens, towels, shampoos, soaps, medicinal items, hair dryers, iron, insect repellents, first aid kit, including numerous other toiletries. The 2 exterior covered porches contain 4 Casablanca ceiling fans, a PVC glass-top dinette set and furniture, 2-person hammock swing, misting system, & garden hose. The grounds are protected by 2 Mosquito Magnet insect control devices, which operate effectively year round. The wooden sun deck area contains several chaise lounges, tables and reclining chairs, outdoor shower, gas barbeque grill, misting system, inflatable pool, & assorted beach balls and toys. The outdoor shed is equipped with a washing machine (no dryer), stored hammocks, portable beach stereo, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach sun tent, snorkeling gear, 2 bicycles, & 2 ocean kayaks. While outside, you may choose to pitch horseshoes, read while swinging in a hammock, wade in an inflatable pool, soak up the sun, or do absolutely nothing! The "Pink House" is surrounded by several mature coconut bearing palm trees, including numerous other tropical island flora, such as hibiscus, oleander, bougainvillea, which are all sprinkler fed and maintained by our groundskeeper. The entire driveway, shed patio and surrounding side areas are pure white sand. There are numerous outdoor wall plaques, colorful windsocks and chimes hanging from surrounding porch area's for decorative purposes. All windows and doors are protected with accordion style hurricane shutters. The house is situated approximately 14 miles from Georgetown, which is Exuma's capitol, and for some, the main center of attraction. On a typical Bahamian summer day, the watercolor is magnificent. The clarity and range of watercolors are outstanding, from crystal clear to turquoise. Great and Little Exuma lie about 135 miles southeast of Nassau, falling into the Central Bahamas region, also known as the Family or Out Islands. This island totals approximately 60 miles and is home to around 4,000 friendly, native Exumians. Exuma is a safe and peaceful place offering many beautiful beaches, historic locations and other fascinating placed to explore. Average winter temperature is 70-81 degrees. Average summer temperature is 82+ degrees. Exuma offers a very relaxed and casual dress-type environment, not filled with the casinos and nightlife of a typical vacation resort. If you're looking for a secluded and romantic getaway, this is the place for you! There are several small hotels, straw markets, native restaurants, boutiques, grocery and liquor stores, post office, telegraph station, United Parcel Service, Bank of Nova Scotia, clinic doctors and dentist, and many churches of denomination located throughout the island. Exuma is the home of the Annual Out Island Regatta, held in peaceful Elizabeth Harbor. Exuma is also known for its World Class Bone Fishing. Local guides can be hired for bone fishing, deep-sea fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving. Boston Whaler boats are available for rent in Georgetown from Minns Water Sports. Exuma International Airport, also known as Georgetown GGT, is your flight destination. American Eagle flies directly from Miami, Florida, where as Bahamas Air flies directly from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Nassau, Bahamas. Both airlines operate on daily flight schedules. Rental cars, jeeps, mopeds and taxis are available at the airport and also in Georgetown. Again, this is not your average - vacant rental home, requiring you to bring many toiletries and personal accessories. The "Pink House" is a well-stocked, turnkey & move-in-type of relaxed home for your personal usage, so please do bear that in mind while packing your bags.
