Description
Compass Cay is a truly spectacular 450-acre island with the Lodge, Villa and two apartments. All are spacious with an open plan -- a living/dining/kitchen area and a large eight-foot porch that extends 270 degrees around the building.
Each unit has a view of the water and only a short walk to the spectacular ocean beach.
Activities that you may enjoy while staying here include hiking, scuba diving, kayaking, bonefishing, snorkeling, and many more! Or simply relax on the beach, listening to the gentle breezes and the waves.
How To Get Here...
From USA there are two main choices which may depend on numbers in your party and times of travel. First, from the USA via a commercial airline to Nassau, Bahamas. Flights leave as often as hourly from Miami, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and other international airports for Nassau, Bahamas. (1 hr. flying time). Once in Nassau you can charter a plane to Nassau. We can give you names of local pilots we recommend. We pick you up from Staniel by boat and take you to Compass Cay - scenic ride of about 20 minutes.
he Lodge is one of several houses on this spectacular 450 acre island, and is set in its own private gardens on a high ridge giving 360 degree water views. Private paths lead from the large veranda on the East side of the Lodge to the crescent beach. From the sixty foot porch on the West side of the Lodge you will delight in the constantly changing colors of the waters of the Pipe Creek area. Your private stone path winds down through the woods to the marina and harbor area.
The Lodge is airy and spacious with a 30' x 25' open central living and dining area, featuring spectacular views from the numerous screened doors and windows. The three bedroom, one bath Lodge sleeps six with a double beds in each bedroom. The bedrooms are air conditioned and also have ceiling fans. All linens are supplied. All floors are tiled, and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything except your food and beverages. Your own propane barbeque is located outside, on the porch.

Treehouse Apartments
The Treehouse is set on the top of a hill overlooking Bonefish Creek to the East and the deep blue waters of the Exuma Sound to the west, and is about a five minute walk from the Lodge and marina. It is only one of two houses on the island with uninterrupted views of the ocean and palm trees. The two apartments are located on the first floor. The owner lives on the second floor.
Each two bedroom apartment accommodates four with double beds in each bedroom. The bedrooms are air conditioned and also have ceiling fans. There are sleep/sofas in the living room for use by children. All linens are supplied. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything except your food and beverages. Your own propane barbeque is located outside, on the porch.

# Relax! Take a book from the island library. Find a secluded spot with a breathtaking view over the aquamarine water and enjoy.
# Walk the magnificent crescent shaped half mile ocean beach, voted one of the best in the Bahamas.
# Collect shells and washed up treasures on any of the thirteen beaches.
# Snorkel the many shallow reefs surrounding the island.
# Take a picnic to the pavilion or to the gazebo overlooking the beach.
# Visit "Rachael's Bubble Bath", a large natural pool full of bubbles formed from ocean waves that crash over the edge of the lagoon.
# Bonefish in the creek.
# Swim with Tucker's pet nurse sharks, or just pet them from the dinghy dock as they surface to greet you.
# Feed the sharks as they lay on the dinghy dock at high tide.
# Hike the many marked trails to places such as the Low Tide Airport, Hester's House, the old Haitian shipwreck, or try to circumnavigate the island. When the tide is right, do the "jungle walk" and the remote beach at the south end of the island.
# Rent a Kayak and explore the creek.
# Snorkel Tucker's aquarium under the south dock in the marina, or just:
# Feed the tropical fish from the docks. With water this clear, you can get great tropical fish pictures without getting wet.
# Swim in the natural pool between "His and Her" Cays, so close that you can wade there at low tide.
# Snorkel the superb reef off of "His and Her" Cays.
# Join the boaters at the marina for sundowners. Look for the elusive green flash.
# Enjoy the regular pot luck suppers on the docks.
# Or, again, just relax on the beach. |
