Description
Carambola Cottage is located on Sugar Loaf Cay just south of the Eastern Shore peninsula of Marsh Harbour. The five acre southwest tip of the cay is called Parrot Point and Carambola Cottage is situated on the waterfront with a panoramic view of the Sea of Abaco. Parrot Point is one mile east of the entrance to Boat Harbour Marina. The central location allows easy access to the many attractions of "The Hub of Abaco", which includes Hope Town with its
candy striped light house and Man-O-War Cay with its boat building tradition. The protected reefs and parks of Sandy Cay Reef, Pelican Cays, Fowl Cay, Mermaid Reef and others are excellent for snorkeling and scuba diving. World class fishing for tuna, wahoo, dolphin, sails and marlin and bonefish on the flats are all nearby.
Enjoy the beautifully landscaped grounds with many kinds of flowering trees and shrubs and the tropical fruit grove which features many varieties of Carambolas (star fruit), citrus, avocados, mangoes, papayas, bananas, sapotes and other more rare varieties. We delight in sharing all fruits in season. |

Amenities |
The cottage, completed in 1994, has two air conditioned bedrooms each with private entrance and private bath with tiled shower. The cottage is tastefully furnished in tropical decor. The modern kitchen features gas stove, electric refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, microwave and automatic coffee maker. There is also a gas grill for outdoor cooking.
There is dockage for boats drawing five feet or less with fresh water and 30 or 50 amp electricity available in the private protected harbour. Dockage is free for cottage guests.

Rate details
The rental rate is $1,000.00 per week for 1-2 persons and $1,400.00 per week for 3-4 persons. Extra persons are $400.00 per week. Rentals for more than two weeks will receive a discount. Linens are furnished except for beach towels. A deposit of 50% is required upon booking with the balance payable two weeks before occupancy.
Non-smoking adults and children over 12 years of age are welcome. No pets please.
Phone and Internet access available in the cottage.
We (The Kern's) live on the property and will be happy to provide "local knowledge" and help if needed. |
