Description
MOONRISE is a totally unique property set in the exclusive community of Moonhole on the unspoilt Caribbean island of Bequia in the Grenadines.
Moonrise, set on a promontory at the southern tip of the island, was designed to fit into the natural environment and is built of local stone throughout. The property is totally secluded and is only approximately two minutes from a private coral beach. Come and enjoy the magnificent panoramic sea views encompassing neighbouring islands. Relax on the deck, and enjoy the soft trade wind breezes, which keep the temperature pleasant even during the summer months. In the evening the lantern lights emphasise the peaceful and relaxing ambiance of this select property.
The island of Bequia is one of the jewels of the Caribbean and is easily accessible from Europe and the USA. Bequia covers approximately seven square miles with beautiful white sand beaches and very friendly local people. The charming capital, Port Elizabeth, is only a short taxi ride away and has all necessary facilities with good eating establishments, bank, shops etc.
Included in the rental are the services of our wonderful staff led by my housekeeper/cook, Joan, who takes great pride in assisting and spoiling our guests. Joan produces excellent high quality cuisine and makes the meanest rum punch on the island!

# Plan a day trip to the Tobago Keys with on the Friendship Rose, an original Bequia schooner. Your hosts serve breakfast, lunch, tea and endless drinks
# Mustique, the island of Princess Margaret, Mick Jagger and other rich and famous, is but an hours sail away. Ask Winnie to charter Dwight Taylor and his boat for the trip. Dwight is charming and an excellent sailor. Swim at Macaroni Beach, take a tour of the island, and have lunch at Cotton house or the famous Basil’s Bar, right on the beach.
# St. Vincent, an hours ferry ride away, boasts a beautiful botanical garden, and an active volcano. Take a taxi tour of the island or plan a day of climbing Soufriere, the volcano. You can drive part of the way, but it’s an hours hike to the top. Definitely worth the trip… the view is magnificent. While you’re there, visit the local shops and have lunch at the French restaurant. Ask Winnie to arrange to have you met at the ferry by Robert, our favorite driver. He’ll take care of you for the day and show you whatever you’d like to see.
