With a beautiful climate year-round temperatures range in the 80's…slightly warmer during the summer months and evenings in the 70's, outdoor activities abound! Diving Cane Bay on the north shore is a personal favorite with coral gardens even a never ever
diver can enjoy….beginners can take a tour with Cane Bay Dive Shop located across the road from the beach. Or, experienced divers can dive the wall….reported to be 3,200 ft deep! Also , night dives off the Frederiksted pier is a favorite.
And , of course, there are plenty of shipwrecks,too! Snorkeling & Beaching Cane Bay is also fine for snorkeling and sunbathing. Cane Bay's Bar and café is just across the road! Shoy Beach is a perfect spot for family swimming and one of the closest beaches to the Island Inn….enter at the Buccaneer Resort , 2 miles west , turn right and stop at the guard house and tell you're using Shoy Beach! Also, off the right side of the bay… great snorkeling. Swim out to the point…plenty of coral and tropical fish! Shhhhh…It's a secret….we'll tell you when you arrive!
Great snorkeling, swimming, views, white sand…. and only the locals know where it is! Golf Plenty of tee times….and the Caribbean breeze should keep you cool enough to play most times of the day, most days of the year! The Reef is east of the Inn….Duggin's restaurant is on the water…nice after a round! It's a 9 hole course…..very reasonable! Not too "resort" like! Just fun! Buccaneer Resort is 2 miles west (also Great beaches, tennis, water toys for rent) 18 hole course over rolling hills ….great views. Carambola Golf Club….West end of the Island….
St Croix is just 28 miles long….and gorgeous drive thru the rain forest! Buck Island Tours If you pick just one activity….besides the beaches….go to Buck Island!
Buck Island is a U.S. National Park….the most spectacular snorkeling and beach….I'm sure you will agree! And, half the fun is the boat ride there! The Teroro II sails out of Green Cay. There are many tours to choose from…..some leave from Green Cay ..others from
Christiansted. Dining Everyone has favorites…..just down the hill (a mile away ) is Cheeseburger in Paradise. All dining is outside…..most nights they have live music at night…..and its good! P.S. They do serve a few other items besides cheeseburgers! For the big splurge….Carambola Friday night…it's an all you can eat buffet (excellent) plus entertainment including Steel drum band, mocko jumbies, limbo and glass walking…all in a beautiful setting on the water. Looking for some good cruzan cuisine, fish or pasta.. just ask! Other activities include mountain bike tours, sport fishing, Sea Plane flights and historical attractions including the Danish forts in both towns. Oh, and lets not forget duty free shopping. Watches, jewelry and rum are popular duty free purchases. U.S. residents can return with $1,200 duty free every 30 days! Get all the duty free details , then shop , |
