Description
The Bird of Paradise offers a unique blend of exquisite detail, spacious comfort and quiet ambiance. It was designed by Wilson & Associates, famed resort designers for the Amandari in Bali, Las Ventanas in Cabo San Lucas, Peninsula in Beverly Hills, and numerous others. Named after the exotic birds of Papua New Guinea, the Bird of Paradise is designed in an Asian Tropical style with meandering, lagoon-style pools that weave between the four buildings to create an intimate compound that is lush with vegetation. The Bird offers true indoor-outdoor living with entire walls that fold completely back and away to let in the gentle breezes and fragrances of this tropical paradise.
The Bird is located on a small bluff overlooking the Caribbean Sea and the islands of St. Barth’s and St. Martin. The beautiful, curved Sandy Hill Bay beach is a short walk down a path and the sheltered bay and beach offer excellent swimming and snorkeling as well as a safe harbor for a small yacht.
Attention to the desires of guests means great attention to detail, and Bird of Paradise offers a wide-range of features to enhance your comfort and overall experience. The architectural detail is stunning, from the stained wood peaked interior ceilings and the finely-chiseled rock walls to the romantic lighting. At any time of day or night the property is magical. As one guest wrote, "I must have taken 100 photos!"
The Bird offers a large interior living room with fold-back walls, as well as several exterior living areas, one with a fireplace. There are three dining experiences. The outdoor ambiance is captured in large verandahs and terrace patios, both shaded and open. A large Indonesian bale or daybed is situated in a grove of palm trees overlooking the sea and is perfect for massages and naps. |
