This spectacular exclusive Caribbean resort villa in the Dominican Republic, was lovingly designed and constructed over a 15-month period by an award-winning American architect. Having sailed over 200,000 miles offshore, including a circumnavigation of the Earth, the owner sought a tropical Caribbean retreat in a stable, friendly country with regular non-stop air connections to the outside world. Completed in late 1997, this island getaway property was developed with one goal in mind: to create the most spectacular home on the north coast island resort of Hispaniola, Dominican Republic. Over 200 skilled artisan craftsmen shared in the process and the result, both in terms of exotic materials and fabulous beach location, is nothing short of magnificent.

The master suite is located in its own cottage, a few steps from the main house for convenience, but set apart for privacy. The cottage features a luxurious king-sized bed, his-and-hers bathrooms and a dressing room. Mahogany doors open onto a covered wraparound terrace, furnished with hammock and rocking chairs overlooking the sea-- the ideal spot for reading a book, sharing a bottle of wine at sunset, or receiving a massage or pedicure. Look over some other enticing interior pictures of this exclusive Caribbean villa.
Other sleeping accommodations include: the guest casita, a pool-side cottage featuring two bedrooms with queen sized beds, each with a large bath and wraparound terrace; two tennis suites, the tower bedroom suite, with its two balconied bedrooms and full bath that provide stunning sea and garden views, as well as a cozy bedroom with private bath just off the villa's great room. The final structure is an ocean-view, pool-side cottage featuring two spacious suites, each with generous bath and dressing area.
In addition to the 10 full time bedrooms, an 11th sleeping space is located in a charming nook, which has one extra bed that can sleep one person, adjacent to the game room. In all, there are 11 separate sleeping areas and twelve full bathrooms. All linens and towels are new and of the best quality. All rooms are equipped with cable TV and air conditioning.
The kitchen, in many ways the heart of the private villa, is a lovely space, open on two sides to gentle tradewinds. The spacious, 35' x 22' great room is the perfect place to entertain, with its elegant yet comfortable ambiance, a variety of amusing coffee table literature, and functioning fireplace. There are several indoor and outdoor dining venues, including a beautiful picnic table overlooking the sea.
The 20' x 26' game room houses billiard table and entertainment center with 30" satellite TV, VCR, and stereo system. TV/VCR's are also located in several other bedrooms, and the villa boasts a fine selection of current and classic movies as well as an extensive library. |

Activities and Attractions |
World Class Golf is just 10 minutes away! The new Robert Trent Jones oceanfront golf course at Playa Grande is nothing short of spectacular, with 10 of the 18 championship holes playing atop 100 foot sea cliffs. Ubiquitous trade winds combined with strategic sandtrap placement ensure that you will be challenged. Vouchers are available to Lazy Heart guests at significant savings.
Scuba Diving opportunities are excellent in nearby Rio San Juan, where the PADI certified dive center of Gri Gri Divers operates group and private dives, day or night.
Deep Sea Fishing is fantastic here, as the waters teem with all manner of gamefish, incluing marlin, kingfish and mahi mahi. There are several charter operations nearby that offer good twin-engined boats and experienced crews.
Water Sports of all kinds can be enjoyed in the nearby beach town of Cabarete. Famous for its excellent windsurfing, Cabarete attracts surfers, sailors, boogie boarders, and beach bums from all over the world. Extreme water sports like kite surfing are becoming quite popular as well. Lessons and state of the art rental equipment are readily available.
Outdoor Adventures can be arranged for those who seek something out of the ordinary. White water rafting, alpine hiking, para-gliding and four-wheel touring are some of the wilder escapades to be had in this amazingly diverse Caribbean country. From the 10, 000 foot peak of Pico Duarte to the most secluded, serene beaches of Samana, you are assured of finding the adventure (or two) of a lifetime.
Nightlife There are a dozen or so great restaurants within half an hour of Villa Lazy Heart, providing delicious seafood, Italian and French cuisine.
The many discos and bars in the area are always packed on weekend nights, with friendly locals dancing to merengue, salsa, and the occasional American techno anthem. Just watching the crowd of exuberant dancers swing, sway and spin expertly to sexy Latin beats is as fun as taking a turn on the dance floor yourself.
Or, venture out to the casinos. The odds are slightly less than in US or European casinos, and they don't have craps tables, but a fun evening can be had watching other tourists, full of umbrella-drinks, trying to play 21 or roulette in Spanish!
Take a little more time and take a 1 hour trip down the road to the town of Cabarete! An active, highly popular community, Cabarete has everything and anything you could want for activities! Truly fantastic Restaurants and discos line the beach.
A long and beautiful beach with some of the best windsurfing and kitesurfing on the planet. With a strong European influence, you and your children should be prepared to see some topless sunbathers.
Cabarete also have a very active nightlife if you want to dance until dawn! |
