Description
This Caribbean paradise retreat is set atop the gin clear waters of Craigston Point, Carriacou, Grenada. All rooms in this villa resort command panoramic views of Sparrow Bay to Union Island in the Grenadines. Sankofa sits 38 private steps above a secluded sandy beach for swimming, snorkeling, and fishing. Catch tarpon, covali, snapper, mackeral, and garr. Excellent scuba diving and hiking trails are accessible. An airy porch like environment is created by floor to ceiling louvered doors. There are hard wood balconies throughout. This two storied villa also has complete living facilities on the ground level. "Sankofa" from the ancient Akan means "honor the culture of the past", and SCI-Arc, California trained architect Brian Bullen, designed this "home away from home". Architect, Enrico Como, contributed added refinements and interior designs. Both worked closely with the owners to combine historical elements in an ultra modern structure. Sankofa has been featured in Maco and the Caribbean Architect magazines. It's designed for the romantic privacy of newlyweds or for a family holiday. This tropical isle of reefs is a photographer's delight.
Three bedrooms: Master bedroom suite on second level with standard double bed, en-suite toilet, sink and shower over an oversized tub. Excellent views from the bed and two balconies. Second bedroom has twin beds, en-suite toilet and sink. Third bedroom on the ground floor level has a standard double bed, a single bed and en-suite shower, toilet and sink. This bedroom is air conditioned.
A third shower is located on the lower ground floor for easy access from the beach. Hot and cold water throughout. A full kitchen with stove, oven, grills and fridge/ freezer provides all you need to cater for six persons. A spacious open living/ dining area, with local stone floor, opens onto ocean view verandas. |
