Our vacation beach cottages are located in Castara, Tobago right on the Caribbean Sea, right at the water’s edge.
Nestled between Castara's Big and Little Bays, Blue Mango beach cottages are timber structures with names that conjure up images - Sweet Point, Sea Steps. The cottages were built on the hillside with the least possible change to the ecosystem. It’s eco tourism at its best.

You’ll also be surrounded by a tropical rainforest with exotic birds and fireflies at night.
You won’t need air conditioning or TVs or phones! Nature provides fresh pure breezes and bird song and fantastic views all day long.
From the Blue Mango you have views of the rainforest inland towards the mountains and the surrounding hills. The forest cascades down to the sun drenched beaches of the northern and southern bays of Castara.
Hiking excursions can be arranged through the rainforest of the Main Ridge of Tobago.
You’ll see endless sunsets and the moon over the sea even from your bed - moonlight so bright it will wake you up to enjoy it.
All our rooms have fans and four poster queen sized beds provided with mosquito nets.
There’s hot and cold water and your own kitchen too.
We supply all linen and daily housekeeping service.
Our hospitality begins at your pick up point. Our driver will advise you where to get local currency and if you are planning on stocking up on your favourite foods, fruit or drink, he will stop for you at the shops on the way here.
Not to worry if you are not planning on cooking. There are local restaurants with good fare.
What else should you expect?
Bring your binoculars. The bird life and the night skies are incredible. The water in Castara is very pure and is safe to drink.
There's fine snorkelling on the beach at your doorstep - a coral reef lies within 100 meters of the shore.
Don't expect jet skis or water skiing or wind surfing - this is a fishing village.
You can go on boat trips to fish or sightsee or barbeque on isolated beaches ...... leave at dawn and come back with the setting sun.
While there are no dive shops in Castara itself, Tobago has several certified dive shops and we have divers who stay here and travel to them. |

The BLUE MANGO COTTAGES nestled between Castara's Big and Little Bays are unlike anything you've experienced before ....
gloriously eclectic and extraordinary, combining the natural experiences of a tropical rainforest with a Caribbean beach in one go.
Each of the 3 cottages has at least one balcony overlooking the sea from which to read, to watch the end of the day, to see the stars, the setting moon, the misty mornings, the fishing boats, the soaring birds, the fireflies, the sweeping rain and the double rainbows.
With names that conjure up an image - Sweet Point and Sea Steps - these delightful cottages, located along the edge of a cliff, capture wonderful views of the Caribbean with its sunsets and moonlit nights - be it from a balcony or bed.
The cottages are surrounded by many exotic species of bird life and fireflies and trees.
There's no TV or air conditioning - just fans, while the Queensized four poster beds have mosquito canopies.
There's hot and cold water and all bed and bath linen is supplied, plus daily housekeeping service.
Each cottage has a well equipped kitchen and hammocks are provided.
The cottages are also child proofed.
SWEET POINT COTTAGE- Picked by British Airways in 2004 as one of the top 52 hideaways in the world it sits on the highest point of our resort overlooking the Caribbean Sea and the surrounding hills. The cottage is split into two completely separate and independent self-contained levels, but can be combined for use by a family or friends sharing
The upper level has spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea and surroundindg hills. The living area, kitchen and dining area have been left open for you to enjoy the scenery and the birds and fireflies.The ensuite double bedroom is closed in but you can still lie in bed and watch the night sky. And when the moon is up it's bright enough to wake you up in bed! We provide all the amenities, hot and cold water, fans, linen, beach towels, mosquito nets for comfortable living.
The lower level is on two floors - the ensuite bedroom & living area above and the kitchen on the floor below connected internally by a stair. You'll dine on its charming balcony or spend time there reading or gazing out to sea. You can lie in bed and watch the sea turn to silver as the moon sets over the Caribbean Sea. There's a feeling of quiet isolation in the lower level. We provide all linen and kitchen items for a comfortable stay. You'll have a fan and mosquito net and beach towels too.
SEA STEPS & THE ANNEX- Selected by Guardian Unlimited in January, 2005 as a choice vacation cottage in the Caribbean. This delightful wooden cottage is in its own little cove and on its own little beach. On one side the Caribbean Sea, on the other the forest.Meant for double occupancy or for a family and even friends sharing.The annex is never rented separately. You'll step directly into the Caribbean Sea and shower on the way back. There's lots and lots of living space, balconies for everyone, ensuite double bedrooms with four poster beds and mosquito nets. All the amenities for comfortable beach living. Forget about air conditioning, we've got fans. As the Guardian said "prepare yourselves for the roar of the sea at night." |

RATES are PER COTTAGE per night - not per person. All cottages have fully equipped kitchens, hot & cold showers, electricity, mosquito nets and bed and bath linen. Cottages are cleaned daily (excluding Sunday) by our staff.
SWEET POINT- complete unit sleeps 1 to 4 persons.
High Season - Upper Level for 1-2 persons US 95 per night
High Season - Lower Level for 1-2 persons US 85 per night
Low Season - Upper Level for 1-2 US 90
Low Season - Lower Level for 1-2 persons US 80
SEA STEPS
High Season - entire unit 1-4 persons: US 200 / 1-2 persons US 175
Low Season - entire unit 1-4 persons: US 175 / 1-2 persons US 150
Includes continental breakfast.
