Description
This delightful two-storey wooden house, divided into three separate apartments, is situated right on the beach of a small bay in the picturesque village of Castara on the beautiful island of Tobago. Perfectly located, it is simply a few paces’ walk through a lovely tropical garden to the water’s edge. Nestled among palms and lush tropical foliage, each apartment offers spectacular views of the sea from its own private balcony.
Coconut Heights comprises the upper floor of the Beach House and has an en-suite bedroom with queen-sized bed, well equipped kitchen, and a large dining and living area with open balcony.
Palm Corner and Breadfruit Grove are self-contained studio apartments beside each other at beach level, both with their own separate entrance. Their individual verandas can be interconnected to allow access to both units, if desired. Each apartment has a double bed, well-equipped kitchenette and separate bathroom.
Castara is an idyllic small fishing village located on the north shore of the beautiful Caribbean island of Tobago. Its two beaches offer a wealth of activities including swimming, snorkelling, fishing or boat trips, "pulling in the seine" with the local fishermen as they bring in their catch, bird watching, or simply sitting and admiring the stunning views. Beach House is located on the smaller of the two beaches, locally known as Little Bay or Heavenly Bay. There is a coral reef with an abundance of marine life right off the shore. Spot rays swimming in the shallows from your balcony, or see pelicans swooping down for their evening fill of fish. Even if you are not a birdwatcher, you cannot fail to be delighted by the bananaquits, tanagers, brightly coloured mot mots and others that will most likely visit you during your stay. Sample freshly caught fish, either in one Castara's small restaurants or prepare it yourself and enjoy on your balcony while admiring the view.

Amenities |
Coconut Heights is comprised of the entire upper floor of the Beach House. It is a spacious one bedroom apartment with a queen sized four poster bed with a fitted mosquito net. There is an en-suite bathroom with hot water shower and separate toilet. The bedroom has double doors opening out onto a large balcony from which there are stunning views of the beach, bay and surrounding mountains. An electric standing fan is provided for ventilation, although the apartment is also cooled by the breezes coming straight off the sea. There is a fully fitted, well equipped kitchen with oven and hob, toaster oven, full sized fridge/freezer, a double sink, and plenty of work surface and storage space. The kitchen opens out onto a large dining area with seating for 6 people or more. The balcony area extends over the whole of the front of the house and has comfortable chairs and a hammock for your enjoyment. A high roof adds to its luxuriously open and airy feeling. Coconut Heights has a distinct homely feel with family photographs and personal touches throughout the apartment, as well as Tiffany lamps and wind chimes, and is beautifully designed to capture the spectacular views of the Caribbean ocean from each room.
PALM CORNER AND BREADFRUIT GROVE
Palm Corner and Breadfruit Grove are almost identical self-contained studio apartments alongside one another at beach level, each with its own separate entrance. Their individual verandas can be interconnected to allow access to both units, if desired. Each apartment has a double bed with fitted mosquito net and an electric standing fan. The well-equipped kitchenette has a gas hob, toaster oven and full sized fridge/freezer. There is a separate bathroom with hot water shower. The sinks in both the bathroom and kitchen are plumbed with cold water, as is usual for this type of accommodation. The balcony area has a table and chairs with seating for two people with spectacular views over the ocean. There is a large hammock in each apartment for your added enjoyment.
Features of all three apartments include:
* private entrances and a private balcony with uninterrupted views of the Caribbean Ocean
* fitted mosquito nets over the beds
* standing electric fans
* full bed linen and bathroom towels
* refrigerator, freezer, gas hob and oven, toaster oven, crockery and utensils
* table settings for at least 4 persons (Coconut Heights has 6 and more)
* personal safe for storage of important documents, valuables etc
* hairdryer
* iron and ironing board
* all balconies have a seating area and a hammock for your enjoyment
Other comments:
Our apartments are ideally designed for use by couples. As such, we regret we are unable to accommodate additional guests or children under the age of 14.
Features & Facilities
In addition to the features mentioned above, we can also offer the following:
* Airport Transfers: We can arrange for you to be collected at the airport on arrival by our manager, Porridge. This costs $250 TT dollars per couple and includes a stop off at a small supermarket en route to Castara. It is a great opportunity for you to meet Porridge, who will look after you during your stay, and a very enjoyable introduction to Tobago, Castara and Beach House.
* Car Rental: Porridge can arrange car or jeep rental for you at competitive rates. If you know in advance that you’d like to explore the island, please mention car rental when you make your apartment reservation, or you can ask Porridge on arrival.
* Maid/Laundry service: We provide bed linen and bathroom towels which are changed every 3 days (once during a one week stay). We appreciate it if you bring your own towels for use on the beach. If you require additional laundry or cleaning, this can be arranged via Jeanell (Porridge’s partner) for a small fee.
* • Cooking: The kitchen is fully equipped for you to be able to cook for yourself. However, if you would like in-house catering, please talk to Jeanell as she can either cook for you herself or arrange for someone else to prepare a meal for you.
