Description
Villa Helianthus is located in the pristine seclusion of Mt.Pleasant, Bequia with the village not far away. Designed by the renowned Italian architect Luigi Vietti of Costa Smeralda fame, its interior was decorated by French and Italian designers in a Caribbean ambience. Helianthus is the Latin term for sunflower.
Nestled luxuriously in 33 acres of mature cedars, fruit trees and pastures, the villa enjoys a unique privacy graced with the delicate sounds of local birds. The wide rerraces besides the swimming pool provide breathtaking views of the moon and stars. Mahogany trees line the long driveway as it winds its way towards a flowery entrance.
Villa Helianthus Estates is one of the residences of the former Prime Minister who pioneered much of the development of the Grenadines . It includes seven acres of orchards and adjoins the coastal forests below and overlooking the ocean toward the other islands. The orchard contains varieties of every fruit that flourishes in Bequia: orange, lime, lemon, grapefruit, mango, guava, bananas, plums, cherries, golden apple, sugar apple, Indian apple, wax apple, tamarind and carombola. Fruit vary in season, and some kind of fresh fruit juice can be blended anytime of the year. The ingredients of salads are produced in the villa's greenhouse including fresh lettuce, arugula (rocket), mint, dill, parsley, rosemary, basil and lemon grass. Fresh mint or bay leaf tea is always available. The estate includes two lily ponds and a cleared path suitable for hiking to the palm fringed Hope Beach on the Atlantic coast.
The new gazebo in the garden overlooking the Helianthus plantation toward the ocean and Mustique provides a wonderful setting for relaxation and reading or to enjoy a moonlight barbeque in the evenings. |

This spacious, private, four-bedroom villa has an uninterrupted view of the Caribbean Sea, beyond the infinity pool, with endless vistas stretching from the private island of Mustique to the other Grenadine islands. A panorama of tropical splendour is enhanced by cool, gentle breezes all year long.
Helianthus is rented with a full complement of staff, including cook, housekeeper, laundress, gardener and driver. This relaxing vacation is attended by all the modern amenities such as telephone, fax, wireless internet, cable tv, dvd and vcr. A car or jeep is included in the rental. Airport pick up is also included. We are also pleased to offer your arrival meal at the villa complimentary.
The management of the villa is associated with the well established Frangipani Hotel, long known for its warm atmosphere, quality cuisine and great selection of fine imported wines. We highly recommend that you try the Frangipani's famous Thursday night barbeque and buffet with live steel band music-a must during your stay on Bequia.
Wireless internet connection is available throughout the villa. You may bring along your laptop and connect while sitting poolside, or anywhere in the villa while enjoying the view. |
