Description
Le SABLE ROS? is a Bahamas vacation beach rental on the island of Eleuthera, the only house on this beach, seen in the background of this page. The house is named "Le Sable Ros?", which means "pink sand" in French*.
The front of the house is all glass, to afford unobstructed views of the beach, the aquamarine ocean, and a a horizon full of whitecaps, generated by the many nearby reefs, excellent for snorkeling, fishing, and diving. And... just an hour from Miami.
*we like to throw around French words and phrases to give the impression that we are worldly and sophisicated. Matter of fact, you can even have some 'soup de jour' or 'pie a la mode' at the house, while you trade 'bon mots', but don't expect a 'coup d' etat', in Eleuthera. But the truth is, we are not sophisticates, but simple savages, who long for the days when we could run around without wearing our loincloths at the deserted beaches, like the one that exists today at Sable Ros?.
The house is a very simple structure, (see HOUSE AND FLOOR PLAN and is built built with the ocean views foremost in mind. The front and front sides facing the ocean are entirely glass. Neighbors questioned the sanity of the owner, since they reasoned that the house is TOO close to the beach, and that the next hurricane would swoop the house away.
But this owner is thinking about the many days and years when there is no hurricane problems in the area, and remembering that vacationers come to the Bahamas for beach, beach, and more beach. And if not on the beach, a great view of the beach. There is a large deck to afford comfortable viewing of the pond in back of the house, as well as the beach, the whitecaps, and the nearby offshore islands, the Gut Islands. Fins and masks are provided for the snorkelers and divers etc. The nearest house is about a quarter mile away.
The property is located on the Atlantic side of the island, in the middle of the 100 mile long isle, just south of Palmetto Point, and north of Double Bay |
